Perhaps he or I should have been more specific but I wasn't trying to mislead anyone and I do apologize if it seems that way. I mean in my defense he did say "anything but the VVV"
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

No need for "defense". It's cool.

Just want to make sure people aren't mislead that Jackson is allowing new options that lots of folks (myself included) would really, really like to see reinstated, only to be disappointed by the reality (nope) yet again. ex. See Toejam's statement above about prior Firebird rumors, which were later proved wrong.

Lefty, no need to apologise, perhaps just take Shredders advise and "Slow down, chief"

        More read, less post

        Cheers

I am trying to get a hold of Robert again and I will ask him directly about the Gibson body styles because as I said "Any body style" does cover pretty much everything. I will be one of the first people ordering a Firebird if they are coming back. I have never seen a left handed version and have always loved that body shape. Again I apologize if my excitement got the better of me.

And my brain hurts a little... So to keep things clear (for me): Does the Custom Shop SELECT now allow a 1 hum order? Or is that still master built?

And if you can do 1 Hum or H/S, can one also get HSS? Seriously. I need an HSS DK1...

According to the sheet it says no but Neilli says he has good info that it is now being allowed. I'll take his word for it because it's not a huge option and I think it should be available on any guitar you order.

I honestly hope they really stick to the ideal that they'll build and do anything that you want. I think it's bullshit that one company can say they own a shape and nobody else is allowed to make it. If that were the case Fender could sue every single guitar manufacturer out there for the "Strat" body shape.

OK, I can't copy text from the PDF (no idea how to) but the form says:

                        Standard pickup config n/c
                        1 hum $50
                        2 hum (standard) n/c
                        h-s-s (SL1 standard) $50
                        1 hum & 1 sc $50

And I agree, 'JCS' and 'Jackson Custom Shop' makes for some confusion. But it seems that JCS refers to Custom Select, whereas CS is 'proper' Custom Shop..

That's crazy that there's a $50 dollar upcharge for one humbucker. It's actually less work and time for the builder.

Hahaha I was gonna say the same thing. I'm sure there's a good explanation for it.

Oh god, this again - there's an upcharge because it's not standard, so therefore requires planning and special attention. And if you're not prepared to pay $30 (street price) on a $2500 order to get a single humbucker, then you don't really want it..

Ofcourse. I was kidding. They probably have a batch of allready constructed SL2H guitars without paint or anything. This requires planning indeed.
