  • Adrian Smith Sig question

Is the neck oiled or satin finished?
Thinking of getting the maple fretboarded one and can't try one.
If its lacquered I could just sand it down and oil it but the fretboard might be a hassle.
    Thanks

    oiled
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

The neck has a thin poly finish. It feels almost unfinished. I stripped mine with steel wool and used 3 coats of tung-oil and buffed with finer steel wool. I have 2 of these guitars.

Ah okay, I don't know why but I've been getting that feeling by the looks of the pics.
Will definitely sand it down to bare wood and gun stock oil and wax the neck if it has a poly finish.

The USA models should be oiled, and the imports should be satin.

My USA definatey came without a finish. Great guitar for what it is.

So just out of curiosity, are those Tru-Oiled, the same as the vintage ones? Or is it a different oil?

My USA was definitely oiled...I'm guessing typo in the specs. I can't believe they would have changed from oil to poly, but stranger things have happened...
