Nice score, post pics when you get it.
I'm not sure, this is the description from the CMC site, and you're right it is the grain....

This is a Jackson USA Custom Shop KV2 King V Reverse Satin Black Guitar. CMC Guitars is bringing you an exclusive run of Satin Black Finish Guitars in all the different Jackson Body styles. This one is the Jackson KV2 King V. These guitars are pure shredders. This particular one is discounted $350. It should be selling for $3200. There is a natural discoloration in the wood on the back of the unfinished neck. What you see is the natural grain of the wood. Take a look at the close up pic. Jackson didn't notice it until after the guitar was built and they realized that the neck was going to remain unfinished. Jackson was going to trash the guitar so we rescued it for an extra discount which we are passing on. These Jackson Custom Shop guitars feature 24 Jumbo Frets and we put the thinner Speed Neck Profile on them along with an unfinished Gun Stock Oiled Maple Neck so you will fly on this guitar. There will be no sticking to the back of the neck with this guitar. This guitar is made to be played. With the phenomenally fast feel of its compound-radius ebony fingerboard (12"-16") there will be no excuses with a guitar like this when you are at the gig. This particular guitar also features a Reverse Headstock and Reverse Sharkfin Inlays.

Other premium features include the EMG® 85X (neck) and 81X (bridge) active hum bucking pickups which have a warmer and more natural tone than the standard EMG's but with all the heat that you would expect out of an EMG pickup. Also it is configured with a 3 Way Pickup Toggle Switch, a Mini-Toggle Kill Switch & 1 Master Volume and 1 Master Tone Knob. In addition we it features a Floyd Rose® Original™ locking nut and double-locking two-point tremolo, the classic ivoroid fingerboard and headstock binding, black hardware, matching painted headstock with White Outlined Jackson & Custom Shop Logo, and SKB Case. Don't let this one get away

        Sweet Man Congrats

I almost pulled the trigger on the DK1 that was the same style, but couldn't swing it and now it's gone...

I really wish I could afford that Baphomet though
I DESPISE ROSEWOOD WITH A PASSION!!!

Hehe thanks guys! The guitar is arriving tomorrow so I'll post plenty of pics when I get it.

Do you all have any experience using the EMG X pickups? I guess they are EMG's attempt at curing the sterile nature of active pups but I'm curious if you guys like them or not. I have yet to try them.

Are we all pretty much in the same boat? That's awesome but I think these long waits give me brain damage. I don't think I can make it.

That is a sweet guitar! Over time, the oiled maple will probably get a bit darker anyway.
