Got an email from Kurt Walton at Jackson Custom Shop. And while the question he had regarded an "issue" with the inlay on my Star, I'm still looking at this as glass half full. This means that they are pretty far along in the build. It's certainly past the "look at the spec sheet and select the billet" phase anyway...

I have no doubt that Kurt's good peeps. Just a tad discombobulated from the mixture of excitement at the prospect of delivery and the potential for let down due to an "issue" with the inlay. My guess is: it's the 12th fret FWAM inlay that's giving them fits.
