Why complain? Jackson offers a great alternative, too - just order a Custom Select, and save yourself a grand or two. The only things you might miss are the 3 piece neck and binding nibs. Otherwise, lots more options to choose from.
Limited runs like this are aimed at a different kind of customer, one willing to pay more for an "anniversary" model's (debatable) cache. If that's not your bag (it isn't mine, either), Jackson has you covered elsewhere.

I think they at least look really nice. You wanna know what they remind me of,esp in white? What is still kind of my bucket list guitar in a way? A nice new Model 6.
My only gripe would be for that price,I'd want an oil finished neck for damn sure :-). Tommy D."I'm going to try and work it out so at the end it's a pure guts race......because if it is.....I'm the only one that can win" - Steve Prefontaine

Compared to say Gibson's outrageous prices I think it is a fair price for the quality and workmanship that you get! To have a guitar built exactly to the 1984 San Dimas specs is exciting and very cool.
There are many more overpriced guitars out there than the Anniversary Soloist.
I say bring out a San Dimas Strat head with OFR and it will sell out for sure, either Jackson or Charvel!
Keep up the good work Mike Shannon and co.
