They are limiting production to 30. Why wouldn't we be interested!
I have always preferred the Strat over the Soloist, and I have said for a long time that I am not buying a new (previously unsold) guitar any time soon - unless my situation drastically change.

Never had a problem with the mini switches, you just get used to them. Besides, they give you more PU combo options than a 5 way.
As to Randy's black RR, could've been a 3 way mini toggle. They do / did make them back then. I had one put on my SD Soloist back then, to give me a coil tapped bridge H option.
