  • J4147 1988?

Can anybody give me more information on Jackson Soloist J4147, which seems to have been manufactured in 1988 at the Ontario Ca. plant. It currently has a metallic purple paint job (ouch!), with a Seymour Duncan bridge H/B, a possible coil tap and isolator switch – were any of these standard? Also, what bridge was it originally supplied with – (a JT6?)?

Currently, it’s in a poor state, but I hope to get it playable again.

    Any help appreciated!

Sorry guys. I'm new here and having problems posting an image - my posting permissions box says that I can't post any attachments. As for the black font, don't ask me how the hell that happened!

The site has been making a few upgrades, so everyone is having problems with something....

You can't post an attachment. You need to post the link.

If you copied and pasted from somewhere, that would explain the black font. Also, you can host your photos on some site like photobucket.com or whatever and then link them here.

The mini flip switch was a 'standard' option, and in 1988 it could have been a Jt6 or Schaller, or any custom ordered item. Remember, back then, it wasn't a pre-processed "one size fits all" cookie-cutter world. Any unit could have any option and was pretty much one of a kind.

Jackson isn't going to tell you anything about the original design. Your best hope is that the original owner is around.

You need to host the pics at a online hosting site such as photobucket, and then copy the URL into the editor here.

88 trems were not recessed - unless ordered that way. (please correct me if I am mistaken)
The pickup is not original, and it looks like a poor install job.

With the neck angle no need to route the body.Shady trem route at that.
Looks like a not so good refin I see lots of orange peel.
A shame somebody hacked on it.
Hope you didn't pay too much for it.Pick up install isn't anything to worry about just turn it the right way.
