Everyone's ears are different. Some people can hear nuances in body woods, fingerboard woods, etc. that others cannot. There's really no reason to debate it. It's like saying X amp sounds better than Y amp. All that matters is that you can get the sound you need to make the music you want to. Period.

I own the mahogany SL2H-V and it's the loudest, meanest and darkest sounding guitar I've ever had. Endless sustain also. My other main guitar is made entirely out of mahogany also.

Oh, and I play death metal. You should be ok ;-)

Mahogany is my favorite tone wood... that and an 81, 89 or Super Distortion... and I'm in heaven. Also does really well with drop tuning too..

I don't mind actives, half of my guitars have EMGs, duel 81s, as for passives I have really been enjoying the X2N.

Sorry for the slow response, I was working the night shifts. I'm not on the JCF Facebook page, my Facebook is for my family and close friends. I never said anyone was stupid, I said he was full of shit, there is a difference. If you want to believe that you can HEAR a difference in body wood, so be it, nothing I say will change your mind anyway. Should I ever get the pleasure of meeting any of you fellas in person one day, we will put your super tone wood hearing abilities to the test

two guitars, everything the same except body wood, 1 amp, bring in the blind folded player.... tell him nothing, hand em one let em play.... then the next let em tell you which one is which. If he can truly hear it , he will get it right. simple enough.

That "test" has been done many times before....some players "get it right" & others do not....

Maybe YOU cannot hear a difference but that does not make others "full of shit"....your opinion is just that - opinion - not fact...."simple enough" !!

so the others who didn't get it right, they said they could HEAR a difference and yet failed to hear it... proving those that got it right where just a lucky guess. Thanks for proving my point. simple enough! Look, I am done with this topic, and you keep posting about it so I'm fuck'n with you. I do not care, simple enough?

Since this started with you calling me full of shit, I'll take this one. So, what you're saying is that its luck when someone does something you can't? If they can hear or feel something that you can't, and is perfectly normal to them, that is luck? Who the hell are you to say that? But, whats the point really? Why does it bother you? Its Ok that you can't hear the differences in tone woods. No one ever said that everyone can. Dear lord man settle down.
