  • anyone know what year the USA soloists went from the Schaller to the OFR

I just picked up a 1995 SL-1 and it has an original floyd on it but I'm wondering if it was a swap for the Jackson labeled Schallers that the early 90's soloists
had or it is the original bridge.
anyone know what year they switched over to using OFR on all of the USA production model soloists?
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

'95 was the first year for the SL-1 and this was when they went to the FR bridge,
The predecessor to the SL-1 - Soloist custom production model had a JT-590,
This finished up in '95 when it was replaced by the SL-1

That can't be right I've seen plenty of Sl-1's from earlier than 95 did they not call them SL-1's back then?
I thought 1990 was the first "production model" year for soloists

Na they weren't called SL-1's till '95 and they got FR's too

before that the production USA Soloists were called "Soloist Custom" ('90 - '95) and had JT-590s

and yes the USA production models started in '90

you are correct, I just went through the catalogs on line. I stand corrected
so my serial number matches to a 95 and I have an OFR on mine (the route looks correct so I'm thinking it's original)
but I have the smaller no flange routes for the singles?
Custom shop order? early 95 body, late 95 build?
I looked at the 96 catalog and it looks like they went to the flanged single routes in 96.

Id say its just from a transitional period, the singles they started using needed flange routes so they changed to these sometime in '95

Not a custom shop piece, just a '95 SL-1 and a nice one at that!!

I wouldn't worry about what it has/doesn't have/or should have, just play it for what it is, looks 100% original to me
