  • Help with identification!

    Hello!

This is my first post on these forums.
I've found a great deal for a jackson RR1 guitar. It almost looks too good to be true, so I'm thinking that something must not be quite right. I'm buying it from second hand. The seller is advertising it as Jackson RR1 and I'm wondering if it isn't a RR3 jackson. I want to be completely sure what im buying before I hit the road and travel to test it. Is this a good deal even if it is a RR3 and what are the differences?
    Here is one picture:

I know its probably hard to tell by only 1 picture, but maybe someone can identify it as i'm quite new to jacksons.
I will update this post with serial number and hopefully more pictures tomorrow, when the seller will send them to me.

Also I'm not a native speaker, so I apologize for my English.
    Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. That's a bolt-on, definitely an RR3.

      Yeah, that's between a late 1990's and 2005, RR3. RR3's were discontinued in 2011.
A new RR3 would cost about $800 US and a new RR1 would be around $2500.

The differences between the RR3 in question and an RR1 would be:
RR3: JT580LP licensed Floyd Rose, rosewood fret board, no neck/headstock binding, Duncan Designed pickups, plastic? inlays.

RR1: Original Floyd Rose, ebony fret board, neck/headstock binding, Seymour Duncan pickups, mother of pearl inlays. The electronics, such as the pots, would be a higher quality on the RR1.
      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

          An RR3 is also a bolt-on neck, while the RR1 is neck-through.
