  • Jackson SD White w/ Plat Strat 1326

Screw the FB page, lets get things moving here today with some fresh gear pics. I picked this up over three years ago, but it needed some fixes and Kahler parts and lived in the closet for a while. I finally dug it out and got everything up to snuff late last year, and just now got around to doing a photoshoot. It's basically all-original including the case and warranty card. The card has the finish as white w/ plat(inum). It's an old school pearl type finish with a subtle sparkle to it, very cool. Looking at my photos, you'll just have to take my word for that. I believe the pups are J80/J50N, they sound great and have standard sized rings. The condition is damn good, it's my only example of an early '86 Kahler'ed strat. The Kahler has steel saddles.

Nice classic Jackson strat. Yeah, they used platinum pearl in a couple of different finishes back in that era. White w/plat, as well as pink w/platinum pearl (aka "Jeff Beck pink"). All were cool.

Thanks, yeah I'd like to have a look at that pink plat soloist up close. I guess Mr. Beck is just going to have to invite me over sometime. The pearl finishes are killer, in addition to this I've got white with red and black with purple.

Pretty cool, is that an original finish? It's a bit unusual as far as bengals go.

99.9% original sans the EMG 85. Hell that might be original for all I know. The OP I bought it from in 2004 bought it the day it got hung in a pawn shop in Burleson, Texas in 1999. After as much research as we could muster up then, it might very well me a custom order because we have never seen another like it as far as the paint. All the features as far as the Kahler Pro and the 1/16" head stock plate etc all are dead on the the original Super Strat specs that I have read about. I am certain it was an Ontario assembled with San Dimas parts super strat based on the serial number. By all means if anyone as any info I missed or some other shit I need to know please tell me.

I freakkin dig the hell out of your white Jackson Axeweilder. I had a soft spot for white Jackson/Charvel's and Strats. I have a hotrodded 1983 American Standard that is Olympic White (started to cream many years ago). I love it

Thanks guys. As far as the resto goes, there were a few issues here and there. The Kahler arm was clunky as hell, and the clutch didn't seem to work properly. The clutch screw would turn, but it wouldn't tighten up the arm. It didn't seem to be fixable. So I contacted Wammi World, and they had a used black one piece steel cam replacement part in stock. The old cams are different from the new cams. So I ordered that, my tech replaced the cam, and it fixed that issue. The springs were replaced with fresh ones at the same time. The stringlock was just screwed down over a regular truss rod cover, as Jackson used to sometimes do. I'm not really a fan of that so I had my tech build a proper base under it as you can see in the pics. There were some scratches to be buffed out, and that gash on the headstock logo was drop filled. So, not too bad. I've dealt with far worse.

Sorry I acted like a noob and walked over your bad ass thread Axewielder. You guys know a mountain of shit I could study for years and not get it all. I would love to know more "stuff" about these Jackson strats. If someone has a link I would be grateful to have more stuff to read about. I have searched around and have learned a bunch I didn't know about so far. Like the 85/86/87's and the specifics and so forth. I am like a sponge so if anyone cares too I would love to read more.
