In my long ongoing quest to find a DK1, I would like to my hope alive by seeing some of yours.
Thanks! Any DK1 will do, but I sure love the Ontario builds.
Dk1 are great guitars. They don't get enough recognition. Most people overlook them just because they are bolt ons. But they are equally just as good as soloist. And because they don't have a massive chunk of maple running through the middle of the body they sound different. At least to my ears lol
keep searching for a used one on eBay. I remember seeing an Ontario built dk1 sell for around 800 several months ago.
I paid around 850 for mine.

Thanks for that Ice, I Totally agree that DK1's are every bit Jackson as any other model. It is also
reassuring that I could find one for that price. Every one I find is either double or I don't have the cash, lol.
I can never seem to catch a break with these guitars. It's the only guitar I want yet seems to always elude me. I have all my crap for sale, in order to be ready when one pops up.
Thanks Guys, there is hope! I am in the hunt for one, which I hope to end by the winter. Love the top mounted one, never seen one of those, is that a cs?
The Black one is what I am after, EMG's for the studio, Duncan's for everything else.
they do look fantastic and sound a little bit different than SD or Dimarzios. I think the sound and what those PUs get out of the setup used depends on the guitar they are installed in. I have a BC Rich Stealth with an Aftermath and it sounds fantastic in that guitar. In the DK1 posted above is a Painkiller installed and it sounds a little bit too dark. I changed strings on that guitar and it seems to sound better now. Those PUs seem to get more from the guitar/wood/setup itself and give it to the amp. Crappy guitar or crappy strings/setup result in a bad sound, good guitar or a guitar that works better with those PUs gives you a fine tone ^^
And thats why I don't like EMGs. They sound the same in a 199$ guitar or in a 1999$ guitar

The single hum is just an special order production model I do believe. She sports a Bare Knuckle pick-up as well and I am not sure of all the hype but she does sound good. DK1s are the absolute best, every bit as good if not better in my opinion than most soloists I have owned. Something about a neck-through guitar that gets the juices flowing but a bolt-on Jackson (strats or dinkys) are in a league of their own. Good luck on you search, they seem to be pretty elusive and once owned, very hard to let go of!!!
