That depends. I think they're actually building more consistently better guitars now. Especially with the Charvel brand. My new CS Charvel is way nicer than any older Charvels I've owned in the past.

My biggest grief is that they roll the fretboard edges before installing frets that are cut a little short, instead of rolling the edges *after* the frets have been installed.

Yeah, it really makes little difference, but the latter is far more time consuming.
