  • Newbie here! Is this a real USA SL-1?

Hey guys! I was sent here by the referral of a friend. I was told that you guys knew everything regarding Jacksons and Charvels...so I've come for your help
I've played an american made Soloist a couple of years ago, and I was blown away. It played unlike anything i've ever had (and that was including my Mayones Regius) and so set my mind on getting one for myself.

So, now after much searching one has come up for sale near my...and the guy has sent me an additional couple of pics
Now I am an entire newbie regarding Jacksons, and the serial number checks sadly aren't as easy as let's say Ibanez or Gibsons...so I'd appreciate all the help I can get.

Yeah, I know it has a little finish blemish...but nothing that a some drop-filling, and polishing from a qualified guitar tech can't fix...right?

Anyhows, these are the pics that I got...could anyone verify if this is a ''real'' Usa Jackson SL-1? Many thanks!

    Looks good to me.
    U094xx is mid-2001.
I wish I had a beat up, but great playing, USA model. Just wail and flail with no cares about adding more scars.
My SL2HT is spotless and rarely leaves my music room.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

We know so much stuff about Jackson, that Jackson (also called Fender) will sometimes hand out information that is totally contradictory to what we say here --- and that is simply because Jackson IS WRONG!!!

Yes, in many instances, we know better than the company that gets paid to answer questions.

**For the record, when I say 'we', I am not including me in that. I meant 'we' the site, collectively.

Looks good to me. Oil that fingerboard and have at 'er..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

If the price is right then by all means snatch that girl up, as said above oil the fretboard and let her rip !!!! Everything points to it being the real deal.

Oh, and update us if and when you get it so we can welcome you to the club !!!

                    Nice!!
Both of my soloists are 2001 models. It was a good year for Jackson
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

eh. If you want to talk about boutique stuff, you want to go back further than that. I am pretty sure that most people consider the '86 sale the end of the boutique era, or at least the start of the end. You know, back when they started with the imports - being churned out in a factory on a conveyor belt and shipped on a tanker 2000 at a time.

People need to stop with the pre Fender crap. AMIC (Akai Musical Instrument Co.) owned Jackson at the time and practically drove them into the ground until they sold in 2002. Seriously.

Well, to be fair, manufacturing techniques and process changed after they moved from Ontario. So it really shouldn't be pre/post Fender, it should be Ontario or Corona Jackson. :p
