  • NGD and a Question ('80s Jackson Strat)

Been looking for a pink single hum Jackson forever. That said, I'd I'd like it even better with ebony/sharks (and a reverse headstock would be perfect). Are there any Jackson USA necks out there that would fit any of that criteria and fit this guitar? Or should I just be happy with what I have? Thanks!

Bitchin' strat! Assuming it's all original, I wouldn't break it up. Bad mojo. Dots looks better on strats anyways if you ask me. Yours looks pretty clean. I own the HSS version.

Keep it as is or sell it on and custom order what you want

It's not all original, but I do have the original Jackson pickup and JT6, so it could be put back. It is super clean - only really damage of note is on the tip of the headstock, but you can't even see if from the front. This is my first Strat - it's funny how noticeably bigger the body feels than the Soloists I'm used to!

It's really the neck/plate/body combo that matters as far as originality goes. Trems and pups tend to get swapped out, which doesn't affect the value nearly as much.

As long as you're replacing the trem and pickups with better parts, you're not hurting the value, IMO.

If you are going to swap for a reverse headstock, make sure you get one that is color matched.
As long as it is black, it is fine being non-reverse.

Dots on strats look better to me IMO

Sharkies on soloists all the way

Leave it alone. It it aint broke don't fix it. I dig it. That is about as good as it gets for those strats.

loving the guitar.. i agree with other peoples sentiments.. dots look better than sharkfins in this case
id look around and just piece together another jackson guitar from parts to be more what your looking for and keep that one as is..

if you just gotta have a reverse headstock...reverse headstock jackson necks go like 115 + shipping or so.. thats what i paid for mine.my neck has piranha tooth inlays which wasnt an issue for me.. wasnt particular other than i wanted a reverse headstock

I think it looks perfect as-is. A stripped, ready for action scream machine. Like a good 80s groupie should be.

IF you want fancy appointments, just go custom shop and get what you want into something else. I don't recall a Jackson or Charvel with the specific specs you mention outside of the USA models.

Is this the one that was for sale on TGP? If so I almost bought this one a couple weeks ago. Great guitar, great score-congrats!

I hate to say it because I love fins but in this case I would keep the dots.
