  • 1990 Jackson RR1 question.

I'm trying to figure which pickups were in my RR1 originally, they were with Jackson logo's and some sort of boost function. Any idea which kind Jackson were using around 1990?

    Thanks.

Most likely a pair of J-50's for pickups.

Thanks, looks like a j50 B and N. I already got the B so now to look for the Neck. Im guessing the je1200 is pretty hard to get hold of.

As to the JE1200; I see them on ebay from time to time ($40.00 and up) and there's someone who has a decent looking reproduction ($40-ish) that is fairly priced.

J 50's are awesome sounding pick ups with or without the mid boost.
            Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Had a J50B in my GITD when I bought it but the "E" Strings were lost due to it being standard spaced. Not sure if it was original as the single coils have covers but the J50B did not. While it did have nice vintage sound to it and had it been angled EVH Style I might have left it. I opted to install a SD "Evenly Voiced Harmonics" TB and it opened up the sound x 10.
