They were mostly used on Custom Shop builds from about 1989 through 1994. I have heard it referred to as the Jackson "shaded" logo but there was no official description of it.

Shaded silkscreen logo I don't think there's any specific term, but if you order a CS and say you want the shaded logo, they'll do it. They'll do shaded MOP or abalone as well.

It isn't MOP, hell, it isn't even white, but it looks real nice when the yellow is glowing in the dark.
