  • See here (http://www.jcfonline.com/threads/133...oh-vs-Schaller) for compelling reasons why xeno chose a Gotoh Floyd.

You have the patience of a saint, xeno! Truly a unique piece and worth the wait.

    • Wow totally amazing. You probably just sold 20 customs with pictures of the back of that neck. Guitarporn. Now at some point I have to get a custom just to get one. Ugh. Neck thru strat head. Nice purchase.

      • Thanks man! Yeah, my thread on the Gotoh pretty much outlines why I chose that. I'm fairly sure that's the first time they used one too. lol

Here's a picture of the back of the headstock in the sunlight.

        • Stellar maple.

I love the Jackson-labeled Gotoh tuners. Good enough for imports, good enough for unique Custom Shop pieces.

Did you need to send them the Gotoh Floyd, or do you just specify which one you want and they acquire it?

          • There are several different grades of Gotoh tuners. I don't know how to distinguish them, but the cheapest ones aren't even marked Gotoh.

I just spec'd the trem, they purchased it through their channels.

            • Performance Guitar (I just ordered one) prefers to use the Gotoh Floyd but I'm a Floyd snob so I told them I want an OFR

I'm a Floyd snob, so I want the Gotoh. The screw in bar is really worlds better than the stupid collared arm.

I have some old guitars with the OFR and a screw in bar. Personally, I prefer them with the collar over the screw in type. Just a matter of personal preference. As far as tuners, nothing beats LSR

I wanted to do LSR's on my new Performance but I want chrome hardware and I only have black and gold LSR's. I've only had one chrome set and that is on my black Jackson CS.....

                  • LSR tuners are horrid. They're brittle and break easy and replacement parts are impossible. Ed Roman owns the patent to them. lol

LSR's where made by Schaller in Germany. The patent has expired: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5097736.html

Ed Roman does not own the patent unless he bought all rights of LSR.

I've bought all left over stock from Ed Roman as well as various sources all over the world. I have very little left.

They are not horrid - they are not brittle. They work very well.

Sorry for going OT in your thread but wanted to set the record straight. I respect if you don't like them, but don't say they are junk as I have first hand experience with them.1010-24-2013-07.jpg10-24-2013-07.jpg
