  • NGD: '98 Jackson DK1

Scored this one from Reverb. In damn near mint condition with a beautiful jet black ebony fretboard, too. I haven't played it too much, but after restringing, checking intonation, and adjusting the truss rod, it should be ready to go.

I'll snap better pics once the clouds go away.

Man, just love those. The tops on the ones I've seen, the blue like yours and a reddish pink are insane. The gold hardware & binding really sets it off too.

Looks crazy clean, even the gold plate. Must be the 4 silica packs. If he had only gone 3, disaster.

I love Jackson's Chlorine and Trans Blue finishes with gold hardware, and I agree that the binding helps this one pop. They're just beautiful guitars.

This is my first pre-Fender Jackson, and it's arguably the best playing guitar I've ever owned (apart from the natural Koa CS Charvel I had a while back). I dropped it down to Eb, strung it with 10-46 Slinkys, and with the neck dead straight the strings are almost touching the 22nd fret and it still doesn't choke on bends anywhere. I'm definitely going to swap the neck pickup for a Quarter Pound and will eventually change the JB for a Custom, but for now, I'm very happy with the tone and playability of this guitar.

            Awesome score, love it!
I was very close to pulling the trigger on that one but got the strat instead.
If you ever decide to let it go I call dibs.

Nice one! Love the color, congrats.

2nd dibs, if you ever let it go. But, damn, enjoy it.

Curious what the neck is like? Is it thinner like the current DK1? Or more like a Soloist?

It's the speed profile as far as I'm tracking.

Definitely thinner than my 2015 SL2H.

I saw that one, and was jonesing hard for it. I'm glad it is kept in the family. My favorite Jackson period. Ontario put out some of the best guitars ever.

                            Congratulations!
I have pretty the same, but colored in purple and made in '96. Killer sounding guitar, love it very much.
