  • Refinish a PC1?

Curious if any of you ever had a pc1 refinished ( in a transparent color, not solid)? Had asked a few painting guys and they all declined to quote due to the top being less than 1/4" thick. Thoughts?

Contact Lee at GMW Guitarworks and see what he has to say. He's been turning out some great refin work lately (including my Charvel model 1 and a number of other Jacksons and Charvels). He'll let you know what your options are with that top and what he can do with it.

      +1. Lee does incredible work
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

What finish is on the guitar right now?
That will determine if you can safely refinish the top in a new trans finish.
          It's only 1/8" thick.

Ive seen some pc1s in bad shape pop up on ebay from time to time. was just curious if it could be done . Would be nice to get a custom colored one (like faded blue jean ). Just wondered if it's a feasible thing

A PC1 with an Au Natural top can be refinished any color you want.
Some of the other ones have a shit ton of clear over them and the dye is pretty deep into the grain.
Those would be a bit harder to do a color change on.
