  • NGD: Custom Soloist

    Hello guys,
ordered this beauty one year ago, got it rebuilt once (of course) and now it is safe and sound in my apartment .
It sports a mahogany body, maple neck and top, abalone inlays and logo and a non-recessed Floyd.
    Enjoy some pics!

Very nice Sergio - glad you got the guitar you (more or less) wanted in the end

Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Those backward + reverse inlays are awesome.

Very classy choices with all the details, colours, hardware, materials, etc.

Is this a Custom Shop or a Custom Select? I feel like all the differences you chose (compared to what's offered on a USA Select) don't really justify Custom Shop wait time and prices because you chose what I feel are "tweaks" to your liking rather than a huge overhaul of a production Soloist. Methinks since you ordered it one year ago, the "quick" turnaround time means it is a Custom Select?

            Beautiful...and no truss rod cover.

                Nice one, pretty unique. Congrats.

Was this at MZ recently? Or am I thinking of something different?

They had something similar but no black burst and I think it was alder with MOP sharkies.
Maybe that was the first attempt???

Very elegant. Love the inlays. How long did it take? Are those Sperzals? Why the choice of locking tuners and locking nut?
