  • Jackson Roundhorn V - uhmm what?

So I was just looking through the photos of this NAMM Roundhorn V and had a sudden WTF moment. Did anyone else notice that - in addition to the offset cutout by the neck - the bottom wing is shorter than the top one? Were all of the recent roundhorns done this way?

Man, kind of like seeing a beautiful woman at the bar, only to see her later walk away from it with a bad limp from a gimpy leg. LOL

Maybe that's why they did the weird-ish pickguards? To visually distract away from the slightly shorter lower wing?

From what I understand that is being done on purpose.

Oh yeah, of course it is. That doesn't make it right, though. LOL. Just hadn't noticed that particular feature before.

And, besides, if they're going to make them "that" different from the Gibsons because of that, WTH won't the let customers order them, again? It's clearly quite a bit different from the Gibby body shape. Always was, of course, but now even more so.

I'd never noticed the length difference either. Not sure it bothers me that much to be honest, at least nothing like as much as them making them for trade shows that have the express purpose of showing your wares to the public, only to tell the public they can't order them LOL

Yuck before noticing one wing was shorter, double yuck for it being horrible anyway.

Not a roundhorn fan but I don't mind that, however the difference in horn lengths is off-putting. I like the red, maple board & pointy headstock, maybe that's all I like about it, dunno.........................nah, give me a King V any day

OMG I just noticed the short leg. Like a stripper with an ace bandage and orthopedic shoe.

I think there was a better pic somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now. I loved the first rounded version of the Carvin Ultra V, always thought it would be cool to see a roundhorn Rhoads.

One of these days the custom shop will offer it's customers a proper flying V. Until then, I'll wait.
