NGD - Jackson Dinky

Local shop had this hanging up for sale and thought it was a good enough deal to bring home. They said it was a '88 Dinky made in the US. That would make it made in Ontario and not San Dimas as the neckplate says. I only know that because of you knowledgable people on this board.

Plays wonderfully but has some dings. Looks to be the original hardware from the looks of it. Not sure what wood it's made out of but it's pretty light.

I prefer non-trems put I'm pretty term agnostic. Floyd's only annoy me when I change strings or tunings since I haven't learn the dark magic if setting them up.

The bridge has most the gold worn off. Would it be bad to replace the bridge and pickups?

Yes the volume knob should be gold also but most the gold is gone. The turners are sorta still gold.

msaint65 - What is the relevance of a Mark Gellert mark? Figure that's a luthier that worked for Jackson at the time.

Nice! That doesn't look like an '80s tune-o-matic bridge, though. The earlier bridges were thinner with a retaining wire on them.

I was just looking at the 88 catalog and I think this is a strat body and not a dinky. The front cutouts on the body match the pictured strat in the catalog and a dinky isn't listed.

I've got a '94 Dinky HX that came with the same thinner bridge, but I did upgrade it to the thicker one, also. I'm not sure what year they actually changed over.
