Has anyone else noticed that the USA Select guitars are all only available in black or snow-white? Could just be a fuck-up given the amount of inaccuracies / inconsistencies in the specs, but it does kind of read like anything else is either a case of order your own Custom Select, or buy one of the 'Special Editions'..

About a month ago the admin on the official facebook page made a very rare appearance/comment to a person regarding a question. They told him to contact customer service.
I replied that many people get no response from CS. They replied 'everyone gets a response'...
I lol'd and said 'the internet is full of people who get no response...'
They had no response.96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

One of the things that started turning me off of Jackson was when they began reducing the color options 10 years ago, or so. Remember when the graphic and color options were vast? Sure, you had to wait for a "batch" to be made in that color of whatever, but you could order it and it was not under special pricing. My personal opinion, is that Jackson was selling mostly black or white guitars and dropped the other colors because they weren't selling in the same numbers. Plus, somebody like me that WANTS something in a unique color most likely also wants another change or two, so head to "Custom Select" and the guitar you REALLY want....GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Actually, now that I think about it, the reduction in USA Jackson color options isn't so surprising. Look at the USA Charvel Pro-Mods. They debuted in 2008 (if my facts are correct) with a tiny number of standard colours (black and red?) and limited "custom colors" (everything else) in batches. Now we have fewer USA Jackson color options too.
But it's simultaneously fun and sad to reminisce about admiring the bewildering array of colors available a decade and a half ago. Eerie dess swirl, blood drip, pile o' skulls, lightning sky, flame and quilt finishes, lots of solid colors, etc.

Nah, the website is just lame and not detailed enough. Minimal effort done there, obviously. Look at the 2016 catalog, it trumps the website. It doesn't go into great detail about the available finishes for USA Select guitars, but it does show some of the ones that are available and clearly references throughout that trans finishes have chrome hardware. There was more detail in the 2014 version, which actually listed some of the options available. ("USA Select color options include...", so there were more available than shown.) And seems like they may have added a few back even, including some of the older graphics (bengal tiger, snakeskin, errie dess). Some graphics have also been added to the Custom Select options menu for the first time this year, too.
