  • SL2HT-Zombie Girl/MLearn Info Needed

Hey guys. Looking for some info on this guitar I just picked up. It's shipping to me now and was wondering if anyone knew of the back story with this particular run.

    Thanks.

Don't have any info other than I think it's a fairly recent model. I could date it if you have a serial.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Thanks for the response. Got a PM from Glory. I guess these were a '14 model that didn't do well. Good for me, I guess since I got it at a decent price. SL2HT's with reverse heads don't come up very often so I was jazzed to get it. It arrives tomorrow for the serial.

SL2HT's in general aren't nearly common enough in my opinion...reverse hs is even rarer. I don't play tremolo and both my Jacksons are string thru. SL2HT and DKMGT.

Took months of searching to find my '08 used SL2HT a few years back. Congrats and good luck with her.

Thanks. It took me a while to find my first SL2HT and it was black. Not my first color choice so found an awesome SLATQH in tobacco sunburst. Now this one so pretty jazzed. Not a Floyd fan at all. What color is yours?

I don't have much info on this soloist other than it was for sale on Ebay back in 2014. Here's a pic I grabbed from the Ebay auction. I've seen other soloists like this and I think this is the one you bought given the details of the graphic. Looks like it had the hang tag with it back then. Hopefully it arrives with the guitar. Maybe you could contact Mike Learn for more info. He's pretty cool to deal with.

And here's a pic I took of another one of these soloists when it was for sale in GC in Orlando. Notice certain of the details are different in this graphic, like the pickup covers and location of the mouth.

Wow! $3599? Glad I didn't pay anywhere near that. I've been trying to get in touch with ML to see if he can paint a set of new pickups to match but I've not heard anything from him. I'm not a fan of the 81/60 combo and would at least like to go with the X series for less compression. It's funny. I could probably throw a set of the black chrome metal works EMG series in there and from a distance you might not be able to tell.

Thanks for the info. Guitar should be here today, whenever UPS makes it to me.

Pretty sure there was a run of these for the GC 'Platinum' section..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

                    Black.
                    All my guitars are black.

Thanks for pointing that out. I never see anything here in CA that's high end. It's all sub $800 stuff.

Mike would probably need to have the whole guitar to match the paint and it would be a tough job depending on how picky you are. I bet it wouldn't look bad if you just had a set of regular unpainted pups in there.

I was thinking of adding one of the metal works line in there. The color is almost the same.

IIRC there were around 12-14 of these in a limited run Mike did, with each being slightly different.... I'm sure someone knows more than I do! Especially Mike.

I checked out his site. Looks like a run of 6. I have 5 more to find.
