Man, looks like whoever painted your guitar is colorblind. That looks more like magenta than purple. At least they're getting closer.

Sorry you're having these problems. Are you just declining it now or are they going to try again?

Well the'yre building it a 4th time, but now I will have to wait in line behind their NAMM builds, I guess its my fault they can't decipher reds from purples.... so I'll just have to wait. Mike Shannon save me..lol

That really sucks. Someone should get their ass in the paint shop and strip/repaint it immediately!

so apparently Jackson DOES know what transparent purple is, because this was built this year in the USA custom shop at the SAME TIME mine was being built.....

That is NOT a USA on the 3rd build. That is the SLATTMGXQ 3-6 from Indonesia. I had one and sold it because I wan't impressed with the purple. It was close but still too magenta.

if you read the post a bit more carefully you would see that is the sample color guitar....

Did you see the pic of the two guitars together... that's the sample next to his custom shop.

Good grief, a fourth build? Even I haven't experienced it that bad. LOL I will say this... Even though they get it wrong, Jackson will work to make it right. Unfortunately, in this case, they seem to be getting it consistently wrong.

BTW, that KV seems to be a different finish. Not "trans purple", but "trans purple burst". Notice these two finishes are listed differently on the order form and available color swatches. And the "burst" version has a blackburst edge. Maybe they have different color references for the two, and you can just tell them to do "trans purple burst" without the burst? Maybe that'll straighten it out.

Oh my dumbazz mistake. I thought the SLATMGIJFERINFEWOI was the 3rd guitar next to the 2nd. The 2nd and 3rd look pretty much the same.

what we have done is asked Jackson to reference the build of that king v from the dealer they built it for so we can get this fixed. I DONT have patience for a 5th build

I am very interested to see this resolved. I have wanted to order and TP but have held off for this very reason. I think they need to come with a "trans grape" or something along those lines.

I'm surprised that this is not considered a Masterbuild because of the color.

Perhaps if you paid the thousand or so extra dollars, they would have got it done right, the first time.

My Kelly was considered a Masterbuild because of the fact that i wanted 22 frets instead of 24. The craftsmanship was remarkable, however.

Well I've avoided these issues by buying great, but slightly used Jackson NAMM show and one-off instruments.

Although they aren't exactly what I want, I've gotten pretty close, and saved a shit ton of money, time, and frustration.

I'm very happy with what I have: the incredible feeling, sound, and playability of Jackson builds that I probably paid less than half the build price for.

At that price, I feel these are well worth the money - and are a viable option to ordering one - they sound monstrous and that's even with the %$#@ Seymour Duncans that came in some of them.

When I was finally ready to pull the trigger and do a full on Master build, I was told they wouldn't build it ( reverse firebird body with reverse headstock )

I have many designs I'd like to build -- and I imagine it would be extremely satisfying and fun -- IF it came out right, of course.

Eventually I will look elsewhere - I tried Grover Jackson but he would not stray far from his current designs, for me anyway..

Anyway good luck to you man...! I would NOT settle for a color I didn't order.

Reading this thread was fun, and painful. Yeah, the person (or people) doing the paint seem to be colorblind, but colorblindness is generally red and green, not red and purple
To the OP - I feel sorry for you man, but, I hope you get the right colored guitar soon and enjoy it! On a side note, looking at this thread, I was wondering that I'd order a Trans Red King V with Quilted Maple top as my graduation present. I have 3 and a half years left to graduate, maybe I should order the guitar next year, so that it's ready by August 2019?

Then they should check this forum more often. Jackson guitars are amazing. But sadly, neglected by Fender. And, there are so many ''dream'' guitars and configs we all want, but yet, they'd never do it.

this picture makes me laugh really hard, because here is a picture Jackson took of my 3rd build next to the color sample Jackson... that they still cannot seem to do correctly.... I'm just so utterly over this build.... What a let down Jackson has become. I was supposed to approve the color sample, they never sent it, and here we are...AGAIN. I should have just ordered BLACK!!!!

God this is the funniest case of color blindness ever
