From Russia, with Love!
Okay, so you may be too young to remember this James Bond movie title...
Yesterday was a great day to be alive - because this arrived in the morning, from Russia!
Today, I'm still happy!
It was advertised as a 'Pablo cut' Soloist, I didn't make up the phrase...

This is a 2008 NAMM one-off guitar, created by Mr, Santana.
Here I have a Jackson custom shop that not only looks super cool (to me), but plays the way I imagine all Custom Shops should play.
Not all of mine play like this one. This baby is effortless.
I'm sure some people will hate the Orange, but, it grew on me, and it's not White: like practically every other guitar.

So - this is my first single pickup guitar...
The pickup - I am guessing - is NOT a JB, because it actually sounds good!
I will probably try some others, as I feel there's more potential on tap with the right pickup.
I don't know what wood is used for the body or cap.
I may try: Super3, Super Distortion, X2N, Crunch Lab.
I also might try an Arcane, so I'd really like to find out what wood is used before I call to discuss.
It's light at 7.3 pounds so perhaps it's alder, but it doesn't sound overly bright..
I need to double-check my scale as well, it's a new postage scale I'm going to use for shippng.

I did check the serial number with Jacskon cust service and it is indeed a one-off NAMM guitar.
Yet, if anyone has seen this before, or any other one like it, please let me know?
I'm guessing it was in the US from 2008 until it wound up in the Russian guy's collection.
I was worried it might be a fake, with the whole Russia thing
It reminds me of a car, the way Pablo created and blended the lines on this one....
It's a Soloist, but smaller, with some slightly different dimensions, curves, bevels, contours.
It's got a really cool bevel on the top.
The bevel on top is widest near the neck joint on the Low E side, and makes a 'counterclockwise' circle (contour) that goes back to the neck joint on the Hi E side, getting narrower as it goes from Low E to Hi E.
I hope you guys enjoy this one...I know that I will!
Maybe this tag will help someone identify where it came from or who owned it - so I can find out more about it?
