  • Custom Shop Frustration

Hi all...I tried placing a custom shop order a few weeks ago. I was wanting either a Death Angel or King Kelly, and was told by a custom shop dealer that Jackson will not build either body shape. Does anyone know why? I thought the Death Angel was one of the available shapes they have recently built? Very frustrating!

    Try another dealer.

This was through Matt's Music...anyone recommend any other dealers? Been out of the Jackson CS loop for a bit.

Wow... well if Matt can't get it done, I'm not sure what to tell you.
He's usually one of the best at getting CS orders through.

Jackson Custom Shop will not build a Death Angel or a Death Warrior. I worked with a dealer trying to get a Death Warrior built for almost six months. Doesn't matter which dealer you go to it won't get done. Jackson refuses to build them. The dealer and I were ready to buy 4-5 if that would of helped but no luck. The King Kelly may have the same issues that Jackson has with the Death Angel/Warrior and won't build them for the non-endorsed artists. Really makes the motto "If you can dream it, we can build it " kind of a hollow statement. My money for the Death Warrior builds went to Sully and I couldn't be happier with my 624 and I am sure the Ghost Elita and Exotic Galaxy V builds he does for me will be just as good or better.

Sometimes you can get stuff done outside the "policies" but posting it online is a sure way to be sure that won't happen. Sometimes the Internet is not the best route....

Unfortunate that Jackson will not build it.

"They will not build it for non-endorsed artists?" So if a person has $5-$6-$7-grand to spend and wants a Death Angel or King Kelly model, Jackson will NOT build it?

I love Jackson Guitars. But this is a no good and arrogant decision.

They will also "not" build firebirds, or reverse firebirds, and even if they did it would be $$$.
But after seeing the ones at the NAMM show, I was told they were going to do a limited run.
So, I was told I can't order one AND they are not going to do a limited run.

Does anyone know who got the red one from NAMM and if they might be interested in selling it at some point in the future?

I guess it's might be difficult to do, but I'd like to find out more about it and if I know where it is, or someone knows I'm interested, they might give me a shot at it sometime in the future.

I guess I could just as easily as wait and ask later...

I have seen the white one with triple pickups for sale for $6000

They won't build firebirds or roundhorns... until they do.

a bit late on this one. But if Matt can't get it done then yea My Death Angel came through Matt but it was pre Fender and alot has changed since then. I guess it makes mine all the more unique. A shame for people who are willing to spend the 6K plus it costs now to get something like that done. I wonder if they would do it if you contacted Rob from Death Angel and got his ok. He is a really cool dude and I'd be willing to bet he would have no problem with it.

I know this statement won't be popular, but this is probably one of (many) reasons people are seeking out the Chinese places to make guitars and why I have no sympathy at all anymore for companies designs being swiped and built in chinese shops. I don't endorse it (buying the fake chinese stuff) but I still totally understand it and find it harder and harder to judge anyone for doing it.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil
