  • Jackson RR1 1990 original pickups.

I'm looking to figure out which pickups were in my RR1 originally. They were Jackson branded with covers. So i bought a couple j-50s thinking they would fit but the cover is too thick so they don't fit the pickup cavities. Any ideas?

You could take the covers off.
    Or buy some smaller covers.
Early Jackson pups used oversized covers

I had a 1990 Rhoads (production model, not custom shop) and it had 2 J80 pickups from the factory.

They had Jackson covers, but they were not the oversized ones (they stopped using those before 1990).

Did yours have any active electronics?

Yes, came with the JE1200 mid boost. I don't have any close ups of the pickups, but here is the guitar (the guy I sold it to actually has it up for sale on eBay now):
