Are Jackson USA dealers willing to negotiate their prices?

Hello everybody,I managed to convince my wife that this year both of us can spend his christmas gratification on his own. Now, first tought was to buy a new guitar (what else) After some hours of searching the net I found two custom shop Jacksons that got my attention. What interests me now is what do you guys think, can those prices in the shops be negotiated? Has someone experiences if you got better deals via direct contact with the seller and what was the discount you got?

Depends how good you are at negotiating, who your dealing with, and what their current markup and desired margins are and how long they think the product will sit. Always best to talk in person.

I've never paid list or even asking/sale price on a new guitar.
Everything is negotiable.
Trying to do it over the phone can be a pain, but not impossible.
Face to face, with cash in hand, you have a solid chance at making a deal.
Don't be a dick or a know it all. That will end any chance you have of getting a deal done.
But you also have to be prepared to walk if you don't like the deal.

Note: per their agreements with FMIC, I believe USA dealers are prohibited from selling to international buyers. You might be able find one who would be willing to bend that rule, but don't be surprised if that's difficult.

hm, I found two, but I'll keep my mouth shut who it is. At least there seem to be good chances to get a good discount

I know some US dealers advertise that the won't ship to Canada. I was told it was because they wanted to give the Canadian dealers a chance.

That said, I did find a US dealer who was willing to ship to me.

There can be issues with warranty across international borders, because it's on the local distributor to sort out warranty work, and why should they do it if they've not made a cent on the initial sale?

That said, I've never had a problem with international shipping to either the UK or Canada from any of the brands I've bought..

When I order my 2 CS's thru the Music Zoo, I was quoted a price and signed the order. Period. The price was a discount from list, fair and reasonable. I want service and service I received. Dealers are in business to make money and they should. Beat them up on price and expect to get the service that aligns with that beating.

FWIW, my guitars were done and to my door in 18 month.

I've also not had any problems buying from US dealers. Some might be unwilling but sure you can find willing ones.

thanks for the informations so far. Sure, the dealers shall earn some money for what they do. But at least asking for a discount or a little lower price than advertised should be ok. Either I get a discount or not. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

We pay for a "territory". We can sell to anyone that walks into the store and can even ship it for them. But we are not allowed to sell over the phone or online, and we are told to quote full retail prices over the phone to prevent people from another state to go price shopping their local stores.

So, imagine if Jackson had rules like that...
Your local guy tells you $2400, you go price hunting and everyone else tells you $4500.
