What Transparent Color is This?

How does one make a "faded" transparent stain? I assume dilute the stain, but with what?

I nearly licked my screen because that color reminded me of a strawberry shortcake.

By using more or less color vs clear in the mix.

And that may not be a stain. It could be a color-tinted clearcoat. Or, more likely, a basic stain to make the woodgrain figuring pop a bit more combined with a color-tinted clear.

I see a lot of pink, also. Yet, I also see dark maroon/red...especially the headstock.
