  • NGD purple GAS x2 30 years apart

Sometimes when you find one another inconveniently shows up and you have to strrrrretch to get her but it's all good.
I bring you old and new, a great pair.
1986 Soloist 1 hum and 2016 Soloist HS. Both are Floyd Rose, one recessed, one not. Both have the 80's headstock and logo.

            Fantastic colours.

I can't help but notice the 2016 headstock is shaped differently than other USA's I've seen, including my 2008.
The higher, sharper cut to the left/bottom of the low E tuner is very much like some more recent imports.
            96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Love that 2016. H/S, unpainted neck, and a great color. Those are specs I would order.

Awesome pair! That purple on the 16 is sweet in the sun. Love the unpainted neck and the little bit of what looks like flame on the back of the neck. The 86 is awesome for the all the obvious reasons. Curious though, what is the switch for?

I'm in a somewhat similar situation right now with the bad timing. Hopefully it all works out. Glad you were able to score both!
I'm going to give you the keys to the Lamborghini

Switch is to turn the pickup on/off similar to the typical soloists/strat setup of the time period. Functions as a kill switch too.
I don't believe there is any difference in the headstock. I think it is the angle of the picture as both guitars are not level and flat to the camera.
