I acquired this at a nice price from a guy who took it as partial trade for an old fender neck.
It was in some really bad shape when I got it but everything except the wires and one pot were original. The wiring was absolute shit, it was wired with telephone wire and cold solder blobs galore. I spent at least 1/2 hour sucking solder there was so much of it.
I squared away the wiring and got it in really good playing shape. It's a real gem.
I thought it was black when I got it but it is actually dark green and has been refinished. The factory paint was metallic pink! There are areas where I could see it. I was so excited and I tried many different methods to try and strip the green paint. Unfortunately it wasn't a rattle can job and when I stripped through the layers looking for the pink I found they had sanded and applied primer before shooting the green so there is no chance for saving the original finish. I slapped a stencil on the back to cover up the spot where I stripped through the paint.
It's in kind of a neat relic state right now. I am considering sending it to GMW for a full restoration once my other project is finished.
Enjoy!
