Got this one as a project guitar before I read the problems in eFraid of Ebay forums. Ended up paying a cent more than there asking price (was listed about $200 bucks higher online than in store).

Fixed up the neck route, new bridge pup courtesy of my local GC tech and she plays pretty well now. Installed a killswitch where the prior owner drilled (presumably for another tone knob?).

To do this thing justice I should really glue the binding back into the frets and do a full rewire to balance out the pup levels. Based on how jacked it was I am pretty stoked just to have the Robot from Forbidden Planet living with me!

Nice to see someone here got it and is taking care of it! It's a Fusion, so it would have had a volume and tone with the switch in the middle to activate the old JE-1500 wah sweep effect.

Interesting. I wouldn't have figured that based on how badly the bottom hole was for the knobs. The chipping on there made me think it was another hack job done by a "DIY"er.

In total I have probably close to $900 US dollars into this thing. What is a fusion worth?

To me, if you can keep your investment in any USA Jackson/Charvel under USD$1000, I'd say you've done well.

Iron Maiden wrote the song Out Of The Silent Planet about this movie. I still need to find it on DVD or Blue Ray.

I haven't seen a hard copy of the movie anywhere but it's a fun watch if you get the chance to see it.
