Thanks man. This guitar plays incredible. It is the best sounding guitar I have ever owned.

The sound picked up when I did some upgrades on the internals of the Floyd. I replaced the brass sustain block with a Tungsten sustain block. I also replaced the tremolo claw with a Brass claw. Finally I replaced the springs with noiseless springs.

Every one of these upgrades made a difference in the guitar. The brass claw was surprising to me for the difference it made. The Tungsten sustain block was equally impacting. I got the mass of a brass big block in a standard sized block by going Tungsten and I retained both dive and pull ups on the Floyd. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it.

Getting ready to put a Dimarzio MoJo in the bridge and a PAF Joe in the neck.

Love the MoJo pickup! Nice pick. I've got it in a few J/Cs.

In your opinion how would you say the MoJo is different than the SD JB TB?

I like the duncan JB and perhaps wanna try lower output pickup and push my amp a notch up... such like screamin demon, full shred or the new perpetual burn... not sure if anybody put vintage pickup on their jackson ?

IMHO the MoJo is like a JB with some added balls. Not over the top power and shrill, like you might get with a ceramic pickup. Think medium hot, but open voiced and great harmonics with the Alnico 5. Hot rod'd old school.

Awesome. That is exactly what I wanted in the MoJo!

I have a custom shop Dinky on order with a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and a SD Jazz in the neck. Thought of putting a PAF in the neck ala Randy Rhoads but decided against it.

Sorry but i have never been a marzio guy... but IMO i guess the duncans are more in your face.. do you see a guy putting a low output pickup on jackson soloist a bad idea? While letting the amp do the work more?

Putting a "Billy Gibbons PAF" in a Soloist is an unorthodox choice which did happen when Donnie Wade apparently thought it was a good idea to install a Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge position of the 1998 Shannon Soloists.

I think the Pearly Gates makes a nice neck p/u but just doesn't have enough oomph for a bridge pickup. I have two Shannons and one has had its PG replaced with a Dimarzio Super II which sounds much better.

Yeah, I took the PG out of my Shannon - was a very odd choice, but at least it's easily changed!

Cool.... but how about low output pickups like screamin demon or the marshallhead by wolfetone ?
