  • Jackson SL1 Serial #

Hey everyone. Looking at picking up a used SL1 and the seller says the serial stamped on the fretboard is U25889. Everything I find says that it should be U0xxxx. Any insight?

The serials are like Uxxxxx not UOxxxx so older guitars are U01234 and newer than U09999 are U12345 not sure what are they going to do when they hit U99999.

You sure Ed? Everything I'm seeing says UOxxxx for USA neck-throughs...

Ed is correct. The 0 is a zero. So older guitars were U0xxxx until they hit the 10000 mark. So that SL1 with U25889 would be a May/June 2014 made guitar.

I think what messed me up is that all the serial number tables I found only go up to 2001 and I didn't notice that. Even on the Jackson site, they stop there.

Yes that will be "U100K". Y2K was nothing compared to what that will be like.
