It's always nice when someone doesn't value something as much as you do and offers it for such a low ball price simply because they just want to get rid of it. Nice job on fixing up the original floyd rose tremolo system. I've always admired the flying V but they were never my thing. I just don't like playing at that angle while sitting down. I just like watching my guitar heroes like Randy Rhodes shred on it

OP that's a great job on picking up a RR1 on the cheap, and nice job on the clean up.

For rust on metal parts when I want to save the finish on them I soak the parts in Kroil for a few days, and then use bronze wool soaked in Kroil to scrub the parts with a little elbow grease. Works great on blued guns and absolutely will not harm the finish.

It's ALWAYS nice when something like that/this happens! The V's are'nt hard to play sitting down. Grab a classical guitar footstool($10-$20), prop your left foot up and a V-shaped guitar will sit at the perfect angle on your right leg with the bottom fin in between your legs. I actually think they're easier to play sitting down than strat style guitars.

Grab a classical guitar footstool($10-$20), prop your left foot up and a V-shaped guitar will sit at the perfect angle on your right leg with the bottom fin in between your legs. I actually think they're easier to play sitting down than strat style guitars.

It's all personal preference. I don't think getting a guitar footstool is the answer that's one more thing I would need to take with me if I ever went over to a friends etc. Also I love the feel of just having a strat body resting on my leg. I'm not saying it's hard to play "classical" style it's just more comfortable for me to play the other way

I thought $400 was a fair price given the condition it was in(as did he)...a layer of dust all over it, rust everywhere, a layer of dead fingertip skin and grime built up on the fingerboard, dings/chips in the paint on the top fin and other areas, etc... A lot of elbow grease has gone into restoring it back to glory.

Finally finished! I spent a lot of time cleaning her but here she is with the "family" after clean up, a few new parts, a new setup, and re-string.
