  • Looking for info about my 1990 Soloist...any help?

First post here, be gentle. I have just acquired a near mint 1990 Soloist Custom Shop neck thru of the 2 pickup variety. Single in the neck and humbucker in the bridge. BIG Flake gold sparkle with a Floyd. Is there someone available from the those days at Jackson (1990) here on the forum that could possibly shed some light on the markings inside the trem cavity? I haven't seen a Custom Shop with this type of bass boat flake and wondered if this might have been someone's Custom custom? Not sure if you allowed to post pics here but if so, I'll try to figure out how to do that. Thanks for your time!

Would love to see photos. The forum doesn't support direct uploads but the easiest method is to choose a free external image hosting website (https://www.google.com/search?newwin...10.nX3ZhexbA_0), upload your photos there, and copy-paste the generated links back here on JCF.

For an image host, I recommend www.imgur.com, although many of the free services offer similar functionality. Except Photobucket. They block the ability to hotlink/share your photos easily. Avoid them.

There are other sparkles around from that era, but they weren't super common. Sounds like a cool guitar..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

black binding on the neck? if so it was sold at rhythm city in atlanta many many years ago...i remember playing it and almost bought it but can't remember if it had a matching headstock (black binding there too) or not (i think it did but my memory is pretty shot lol)...if it is the one from r.c it came from the factory that way...d.m.

https://imgur.com/a/VE9EKyJ Here are a few pics! Black neck binding and matching headstock. Truss rod cover and trem plate cover in the case. Some clear coat chipping at the tip of the headstock and that's about it. I believe the bridge pickup has been changed to the Duncan DD that's in there now.

Amazing looking guitar in such great shape for being nearly three decades old!

If you add to your Imgur album some closeup photos of the trem cavity, that would definitely help. Likely there's a work order number scrawled there. Similar to this photo and guess: https://www.jcfonline.com/threads/15...=1#post1679587
