Doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to swing 2 grand for this guitar guys. Sorry . I can still make mockups and suggestions and stuff. I'll try to help out as much as I can, as I want to see this done, whether I can own one of these hypothetical guitars or not.

Yea, someone needs to organize this event and hook up with Scott or Matt.
7 String limited will sell.
At least it is not another 6string soloist or RRV limited.
I haven't heard there was 7string limited before.
Will be a great chance to put it and see what would happen.
WHo knows Jackson will take it serious if they sell fast.
But remember, it will be pricy.
These 6 strings limited sell cheaper because they are basically standard model with few minor spec changes.
That is why they can keep the cost lower.
If it will be 7strings, it will be a complete custom shop order no matter 1 guitar or 10guitars.
I would imagine it will be over 2K easily as sales price.

Man I started this thread, and I wanted a king V hahahaha. I wouldnt not buy a seven string rhoads, but I would really rather have a king V. haha.

Okay. All people who would be interested in this SWEET deal just say yes, right here. No more specs or presumptions, Im going to contact matt via email right now and see what needs to be done in order to get these 7 strings happening!

here is what Im thinking:
--King V, Rhoads, XTRR or Kelly (maybe they could come in 3 of these shapes)
--KV-2 Speed Neck
--Metallic Black Finish
--Mahogany Body
--Mahogany Neck
--Seven String Floyd
--1 Pickup, We can fight, some like EMG, I prefer dimarzio
--25.5" scale length
--No Inlays
--Jackson Logo (MOP)

Real no frills, but theres nothing else like it.

Some other stuff I forgot to mention:
--Black Hardware
--Single Volume Dome Knob
--Push/Pull Series/Paralell

actually, maybe we should do a single inlay on the 12th fret--like a crop circle, or something else cool.

If too many people disagree about metallic black, maybe we could do regular black or Gun Metal Grey or Something.

I would be interested to see King V or Kelly.
Prefer Kelly because I haven't seen one before.
1 thing.
Will Speed neck and mahogany neck hold these 7strings with no problem?
It's a thin neck if you want to make it harder, the neck has to be little more thicker and stronger neck wood.

I'd love to see one in black pearl with a green Dimarzio in it, and maybe put the same shade of slime green as the binding on the neck and headstock. I think that the hieroglyph in the middle would look cool, you know a Universe done the RIGHT way

I think pickups can be replaced later.
To go safe, any Duncan or Dimarzio in Black.
EMGs would be nice but how about when you want to replace with Duncan or Dimarzio, the big pickup rout will look weird.
That's another issue with 7string guitar.
Much less options to go with.

There was this photo posted by someone here and it is a 7string Jackson Custom Shop with 3+4 SLS headstock.

Not sure if this was RRV or King V.

If you want to lower the cost, no need of Maple top, no fancy inlays.
This way, it will be less pricy.

That's an RR. Root Beer finish with Blair Witch inlays. One of the guys in... Division, is it?

That's an awesome guitar.
Not sure if the guitar is well balanced when using a strap.
I would prefer to have bigger body end like Kelly or King V if with 7string.

There were production import 7-string Rhoads and Kelly models in the 2000 catalog (RR7R and KE7R). Both had reverse headstocks and reverse sharkfins.
For a Select series now, I think either a Rhoads, Xtreme Rhoads or King V would be awesome with the 4+3 headstock. I think it would probably sell better with a neck pickup, too, instead of just one hum. I think it would be better with a TOM bridge, but I don't mind Floyds either.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Good call. Two hums is fine.
I know a lot of the guys here like one hum, but if you're only gonna use one you don't have to use the other, it's just there if ya need it!
I use the neck pickup quite a lot, myself.

Yep - JCF member Matt Crooks. I'd say you guys really want to get Matt, and Kragen and Vince from Prototype in on this, as we have a lot of "lessons learned" stuff we could pass along to you, since we've all ordered CS strings in the last couple of years, and gig/record with them regularly. We probably won't be buying them, but if the run ends up being a Kelly, I might have to think about it.
