Re: Jackson Wants YOU!

I think things are going well...only two issues for me and they have been mentioned.Get some US models into the stores...and not just soloists. And I ordered an RR1T some time ago ...this wait sucks....it is not a custom shop guitar. But I love all the other things they are doing and no one is perfect. Good except fopr what they did to the "smaller" endorsees, and the MAP pricing...

you've been doing fine for what i can say living outside of the USA. I've seen pretty many imports but the USA's aren't around much in shops as stated before. And here's another vote for stratheads available in the custom shop

no complaints here...except the fact that i need to get off my ass and get some more notoriety for an endorsement ...d.m.

after reading some more of the threads, i gotta agree...paying people for endorsements would drive the price up...personally i'd rather see free (or heavily discounted) guitars go to endorsees...i realize esp and others pay their endorsees (on top of free guitars) but i don't think jackson should have to...d.m.

Re: Jackson Wants YOU!

I can only speak to the marketing aspect, since I haven't--to my knowledge--played a post-Fender USA guitar. I think overall that FMIC seems to be a doing a much better job of getting the Jackson name out there. But I'll add my voice to the chorus of folks criticizing a lack of USA Jacksons in the shops. In the greater DC area, I can think of only a small handful of new USA Jacksons available in local shops. For those of us who know about USA Jacksons, it's not a big deal since we can order what we already want, but how is Jackson supposed to attract new customers for its USA guitars if there aren't any available for them to play? Endorsers are fine, but they won't close the deal on a guitar. Let's say some young guy sees Zakk playing his new Rhoads and wants to try one out--the store will say "oh, we don't have any of those, but here, try this cheapo JS30RR out--it kinda *looks* the same." That guy ain't walking out of the store with a Rhoads...

I ordered an SLATQH in Trans Black about 3.5 months ago.
I have gotten no word on it.

No complaints here. I know it can take years to renovate a company. I think Fender is on track to make Jackson/Charvel respected and desired once again. Keep up the great work.

I also like some of the retro ideas like the Rhoads with the cutout. It would be nice to se some future guitars based on 'what if I ordered this in 1982".

Re: Jackson Wants YOU!

I'm happy with the "Post-Fender Jackson".
I would like to see a limited number of non-labor intensive options on the USA Selects such as reverse heads, different color hardware than standard, pickup brand choice, and pickup routing options without affecting the prices, though.

I'd also like to see the Professional Series brought up in quality and features just a bit, but not like the 1990s.
Along with that, I'd like to see Jackson pursue endorsees for the Professional Series like ESP does with the LTDs - lower cost, high quality for the lesser-known touring/signed "fly-by-night" flavor of the week. This increases Jackson's visibility to the buying public more than magazine ads and porn stars.

And of course the revival of the JCF YCE series and Big Red (not to mention the forth-coming Double Rhoads limited series) are giant bonuses in my personal book

Jackson's doing a great job since the Fender buyout - keep up the great work

I'm impressed with what FMIC is doing with the Charvel/Jackson line...and I had my doubts at first. But I seriously like that they're asking for opinions. I'd like to see more custom options, strathead availability and whatnot...but time will tell. Like I've said before, if I can get a Charvel with an ash body and an R5 pointy-reverse I'm in heaven.... +1 to what Newc said, upgrade the jackson pro line - maybe binding on every model , it's not a big deal financially afaik but it greatly improves the looks of guitars ( look @ ltd 300/400/1000 line )

also the thing with endorsing with pro line guitars

RR with 24 frets as a regular model - US and neckthru , bound neck , import...

Was winter camo ever available ? that'd be cool to have such a guitar

charvels - i see only good things now :o

Ebony on some...

More us models - h/s models / single hum

EDIT : Neckthru Jackson Star 24 frets!!! ( or death angel ;p )

Addendum: I'd buy Select King Kelly without the cuts the day it came out. The current Kelly is too freakin' small for a lot of people. I think it'd be good to have something to compete more directly with the full-sized Explorer, Destroyer, etc...

<font color="yellow"> My opinion, they're doing a kick ass job whith the new models, the rebirth and Charvel and listening to their customer (a.k.a, US!).

The 15% price increase is not too bad, i mean it didn't happen from a long time...

What i think it's really bad, for me at least, and all the customers in my country, Chile. Jackson doesn't even exists here. It's all Ibanhead or EsPee.

The largest distributor here used to be a place called Audiomusica, and they did a regular job promoting the brand, but since Fender took over, dude, Jackson was erased from the map!

And to make things worse, they just happened to receive their NEW JACKSONS (as they told me on the phone...) last week. Check this out: NOT EVEN A SINGLE JAPANESE JACKSON, just the made in india JS Series, AND JUST TWO MODELS!!!

This is very sad, Ibanez does a lot of cool things here, they bring people to do clinics, promote national players and endorse some others, etc, you get the picture.

Jackson on the other hand... ZIP, ZERO, NADA.

It sucks, but it's true.

Fender's shitty web page for Jackson in Chile.

I'll be happy to see things get better around here. Count on me if you need any help to make it happen.

I'm pretty disappointed Jackson no longer has any big name endorsers anymore. You can only fall back on Randy Rhoads for so long... Endorsers DO help sell guitars.
