And what the **** do you mean by that ???? For me, them is killing words, the time for fighting is officially over.
To me it sounds a hellofa lot like someone ASKING to be banned, and if that´s the case (which I hope isn´t), I´ll gladly start the fight that leads to it when this is the subject matter and the ring, because I dont need Nazi trash posting here. I can thwack as many as I like any time I like, I know which part of town to go to, I don´t need this type of fascist BS here, And I don´t think anyone else does either. PLEASE CLARIFY
BTT:It would be probably the dumbest thing JCIM could do. They may as well flat out close the USA plant if they do that...
1. With the exception of Spain and central Germany, no region can really say they have a reputation for making quality instruments.
2. The price would not be significantly different, causing USA made sales to drop, costing jobs over there.
3. Investing a few million in a factory that is economic folly is something most major companies won´t do.
What you say about the imports being "made worse" IS ONLY LOGICAL, because otherwise people have less and less reason to buy USA made instruments. And that´s the only part of Jackson that IMO is "really" Jackson, the USA guitars. Take that away, you may as well quit making them outright.

Why European and Japanese cars are better than the American ones?
[/ QUOTE ]
BETTER or WORSE are to 100% personal preference. I personally HATE european cars, they look like easter-eggs to me. But I´ll try to answer this anyhow...
1. Taxes on GAS require higher efficiency for Jow Schmoe to be able to afford this luxury
2. Smaller land mass = Less room for people = things have to be smaller, while accomplishing the same tasks.
But most Importantly: Experience. Europeans have been building cars in general longer than the US (As we know, the engines we use today were originally "discovered" by Mr. Otto and Mr. Diesel). On the flip side, while some europeans have been building Guitars for a few generations, NO LUTHIER in Europe that´s currently "active" (Including myself) can say we´re better (at the same price) without BSing himself. Raw materials are more expensive, Labor costs about the same, taxes are for the most part higher.
Oh yeah, but we still have that trades system where nobody that hasn´t spent 3 years as an apprentice can open a shop legally without paying a master to "stand in" for him. That means no Temps, no people that haven´t "studied it". That also more or less equates to having a shop filled with Pro-lthiers, which will make the cost even higher (I refuse to work for Under 50.-€ an hour, and I know many luthiiers that have followed suit)
So when you add it up, you have a guitar that has the potential to cost about 5% MORE without bringing ANY advantage to anyone but UPS (shorter drives). THAT´S why it´ll never happen. Can´t say I´m disappointed.
Simple economics combined with demographics combined with a twist of common sense and Knowledge of the worlds different areas
