• My first USA Jackson - KE2?

Hey all,

First post!!

I am 'just' about to order a KE2 as my first ever USA Jackson. I had an old Kelly Pro about 7 years ago which I loved but it had pretty poor quality pickups and pickup surrounds and the electrics were not great.

How much better is the USA series? I am in the UK and there is NOWHERE to go have a look at one. I am having to order from the US as Fender haven't got a clue here.

Any comments - words of encouragement - pics of black KE2s very welcome!

My first and only (at this point) USA Jackson is a KE-2 and all I can say is that it exceeded all expectations in tone, looks, playability and just general MOJO... It has become my favorite guitar (out of 13 others) It's not black, but here's a few pics anyway...:

I'll bet you won't regret getting one...

I badly want a black KE2. I've recently rediscovered the joy that is my KE3 Professional and the frickin' GAS has hit me like a ton of bricks...

JCFer Jerry From Ghana had one for sale a few months ago. I don't know if he managed to sell it or not.

I have a mint black KE2T that I might consider selling for the right $$ or possibly a trade (USA only ) for something cool.

a Ke2 is a great choice for sure
but when you played a kelly pro you definately will notice the difference in the neck
the current usa series have way thicker necks like the ones on pros especially if you compare kellys
i do also have a ke2 and a ke pro std and the difference is really huge
over all the ke2 is a really great axe i love it
maybe you´re able to find a NOS because some years ago they still had black hardware even on transparent finishes
my 98´ ke2 for example has black hw on transblack colour, wich looks awesome

NOS?

Aside from that a quick question. When I had my Kelly Pro the two pickup surrounds were cheap plastic that cracked after a few months...I didn't really think much of it until I bought my Ibanez S520 which had metal surrounds - much much better quality. So - what does the KE2 have?

Cheers - Rich

Dude, I think you made a killer choice (of course I'm not biased in any way ) The KE-2 is a MONSTER guitar, no doubt.

NOS would have been NEW OLD STOCK
means a guitar that is basically new but hung in a store for several years and was never sold
i don´t know for the actual ones but my 98 Ke2 has plastic pup-rings

Here's my KE2, took 3 months to get a few years ago. Still like new. Maybe 3 hours on it.

[/ QUOTE ]Get one. They are great. The only reason it doesn't get much use, (same with my other Jacksons) is because we switch tunings several times each rehearsal. That is why I have been looking for a RR1T.
