I have a 2003 sl1 and need some help selecting some new pickups for it. It has stock sd pickups in it. The bridge pickup isn't bad but lacks the tight edge and bottom I want for metal. the stacked single coils in my opinion sound somewhat bland and I am looking for a true strat single coil tone from them. any suggestions?? In my humble opinion, you can't go wrong with EMG's if your prepared to go the active route. I love mine, great for metal. With the SL1 try the EMG 81 S S combo. I think you'll like them. Good luck, jacksonfanAre YOU a Jackson Warrior?

Duncan Screamin Demon or Distortion for the bridge (depending on if you have a high gain amp or not), and a pair of Cool Rails or Vintage Rails for the singles.
