• Score: Jackson SD Flying V plus pic request

Made a deal yesterday on a celeb owned Jackson Flying V from 1985. I will post pics when I get the guitar but in the meantime would like to get some info on these things.

I counted circa 25 flying V's in the J0000-J1000 log. I have old custom order forms from 87-90 and in those the Flying V is only available for bolt-ons - same with the star body. I know that they made neck-thrus if someone really wanted one but how many neck-thru flying Vs they made in the 80s in total? Can anybody give an estimate?

Beeing a big fan of Accept I always wanted a flying V shape but never even dreamed of getting a San Dimas so really looking forward to receiving it. More info later when I get to hang it up in a tree here in Finland!

Also I'd really like to see pics of other old Jackson flying Vs so post them here please!

Good job Jani. I almost bought that one myself. Very cool guitar.

Here's mine. I think this one is pretty rare. It's from 1986 and a neck-thru.

Here is my January 1985 neckthrough V.

It is a great guitar, though a hair heavy. I believe this one has alder wings rather than poplar.

Yeah. Pale Blue Sky J0577. If you (or someone else) has any info on that guitar please email me at [email protected]
Bought it from Robert Witte. It's been restored by GMW to original specs. Original owner Gregg Wright who played for The Jacksons, Boston, Mick Fleetwood etc. One hell of a guitarist and worth checking out. That's about all I know of the guitar so any previous history etc. info would be welcome.

Big thanks for all the V pics! Keep them coming!!!

Cool man! I was offered that guitar a week or two ago. If I didn't already have J0425 I would have been all over it. They are similarly speced guitars.

I'm a bit confused now... Is the black one my axe before the restoration? Robert told that Rob Lane had it refinished in black and then when Robert bought it GMW made it back to original. The layout matches the black one in the pic so can someone please tell me where that picture is from? Thanks!
