That Bengal Rhoads at Matt's Music is just so stinkin beautiful, I think I'm in love! I'm GAS-ing like crazy, and this doesn't even have a maple fretboard! What's wrong with me? LOL
If I did this I'd have to cancel my custom Jackson Stars order... yikes.
But if you take into account the fact that the RR includes a hard case, I'd actually be paying about the same for it as I am for the Jackson Stars... decisions decisions decisions... what to do?

BUY IT.
Also check Brett has a very cool XTRR in Bengal with oiled finish neck back and reversed headstock.

LOL I dig that RR1 Bengal sooo much.
But I don't think I want to cancel my custom Jackson Stars... payment already went through on that. I don't know if they've started work on it or anything.
I'm thinking the quality will be excellent on either... gahh this is tough

Hahaha well it sure looks sweet.
Thing is, the upper end Jackson Stars look like they're damn close to being as good as the USAs...
I know I'd be way happy with either one so it's a really tough call.
Why can't I have both? GAHHHHHH!

Alright.. I think I have to stick to my guns and keep at the Jackson Stars order.. then some day when I'm not so young and poor and all that, I'll get a bengal RR too!

Let me get this straight... your going to order a Japanese guitar from japan.... instead of a USA Select with a graphic paint job.. for about the same money?

You're right.. I'm really interested in this RR1.
Maybe I should re consider.
The Japanese one is pretty customized.. Kelly Star, Eerie Dess Swirl, maple fretboard no inlays.. kind of unique and cool but that RR1 is growing on me.. better see if I can change this around. Haha

LOL well my custom order can't be cancelled, especially since it's already being built.
(I think they *JUST* started, because a couple days ago the sales person at Ishibashi e-mailed me with a list of the specs and said "Jackson Stars wanted me to confirm this with you to make sure everything is correct")
I'm gonna see if they can hook me up with pics while it's being built.. that would be rad!

Oh yeah and I'm gonna have to win the lottery so I can have the bengal too! [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I ordered it in July, and it will be ready in November (how's that for wait time on a custom order?!?)
By the way, not a kelly, it's a Kellystar which never even had a lot of time on the US market, and was only a medium end import when we DID have it.. but they're still selling 'em in Japan (and higher end versions at that!).
The stock model is neck thru, with a schaller trem, and a pair of duncans, custom in the bridge and 59 in the neck. Comes with an ebony fretboard with binding and sharkies, but I requested a maple board with no binding and no inlays, and asked to have the entire neck from the heel on up, and headstock finished natural satin becaused I like the feel of a satin finish a little better than high gloss like most Jackson neck thrus come with.
Should be a hell of a guitar, it'll be a one of a kind and it probably won't let me down. The price is a bit steep for a J-made piece but what the hey, it should still be great quality, and it's custom to my specs!
