I tried my first KV2T today through a Mesa F30. Never mind the sound... I can never dial in a good sound at music stores. The guitar itself was surprisingly lightweight and acoustically loud. I loved the inlays on the volume and tone controls. The sharkeye fretboard inlays were also gorgeous.
I totally wasn't prepared for the TOM bridge on it, having played Floyded electric guitars all my life. This honestly has to be the first fixed bridge electric guitar I've spent a good deal of time trying out. It sits nice and high off the body but I didn't notice any 4-degree neck angle like on my Shannon, which is strange because I thought TOM-equipped guitars had the 4-degree neck angle. I guess the TOM was semi-recessed into the body... whatever.
I find that the RR shape balances nicer than the KV shape when sitting down with the guitar in the classical position. I tried to squeeze the lower wing between my legs Glenn Tipton style to stabilize the guitar but it went nearly vertical.
I didn't notice the 24.75" scale length, honestly. It plays like any other. The PRS Custom 22 I also tried out today also felt like any other scale length. I guess I'm not too affected by scale lengths around 25 inches, give or take one inch.
Overall verdict: The KV2T is a nice guitar but not for me. I'd rather have a Floyded KV2 or a 24-fret RR if I wanted a V shape. I badly want to try out a KE2 though.
I also felt the neck of a DK1 just to feel what an oiled neck is like. It didn't feel as slick as I originally anticipated. It just feels like a satin neck like on some of the imports. I guess my expectations were set too high.
