Im into the Super 3.. but as for the neck pup...
Lets get this one ironed out...

Remember, I can swap out anything you want on the order labor free. So the basic pup choice is a nuetral issue.. but I need to get it solidified to roll with it...
So far.. thats it.. just down to the Burst or reg trans and

Burst...Burst...Burst...Burst... [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] Seriously, I think the Dark purple around the edge (and back) with a lighter in the middle would be Shweeeet! Is that what we're talkin' bout'? Or is it a burst to black like the Trans Cobalts?

Yep, the dark prpl to light prpl.. no black like the Tcbl and raspberry bursts.. This burst will be like the picture on the right ;-)

So is it possible to pay a reasonable upcharge to have the neck finished like a regular SL2H for any customers like me (if there are any more) that want the finished neck???? I wont pay a custom shop price, but if Jackson were to offer the finished neck for a fair price, I would jump at it.

I know, I am being a pesty pain in the a$$ on this oiled neck thing, but hey man, when I spend that much chang, I want it to be right.

So what do you all think of that, especially Scott???

BTW, now that the top color has changed from solid purple to burst purple, what will the burst be like Scott?? LIke the one pictured above?? LIke the chlorine SL2H batch that Matt at OSG had?? I like a nice gradual burst. I dont like those harsh bursts that look like a 9th grade ART student did in 5 minutes. ya know those kind of bursts where its 3/4 of the way the same light color, then the rest is the darker color, I dont dig that.

How exactly are you ordering the burst Scott?

Oh yea, Stupid question: What is the Ivoriod binding? what color is ivoriod? please help on that, Im dumb...

Ivoroid binding is off-white. A nice yellowed aged white, sort of. I've got it on my Shannon, and it looks MUCH better than pure plain white to me:

Dude, it's a lot of money, you have to make sure it is the way you want it. I don't blame you one bit for being picky about it. The neck finish is a major feature. If a finished neck was my thing, I would push just as hard. How many threads have we seen that where 6 pages of members going back and forth over what would be best for a limited run. I guess thats what makes these limited runs so cool. It's more than a production guitar, but not quite a custom shop. I would just hate to be the dealer trying to sort it out and make sure the guitar will sell and keep everybody happy at the same time. What a great guy Scott is for listening to our BS!

I pretty sure Ivoriod is the same white binding on USA select series Jacksons. I think and hope the burst is like the Chlorine. Very gradual and very suttle.

Jackson will not offer some with one set of specs and some with a difderent set.. i already asked them that question today :-(
