Actually, I spoke tro Mike at the Custom shop today and he said that regular oiling is not neccesary.
And if you do oil it, use a very thin oil.. nothing gummy or thick..
Ive had oiled necks and havent ever had to oil them...

Scott you've got a couple of nice runs going. The chlorine sl2ht ,the copperhead dk1's and now this purple sl2h. I got hooked on the red snake though and am waiting for that but if I had the $$$ I'd get 1 of each.I think black hardware and a maple board would of made it perfect but there is too many opinions with these runs.Still waiting for the ssw.Comment

Scott, Do they grant you a certain number of limited runs each year? or do you get to do as many as you want?
How bout doing a run in a wild ass color like Hot pink?
Or a NEON green?

Thats funny as heck!
I had slated to do a slime green SL2H but after alot of neg comments i was too afraid to stick all that money out on it.
I had a sweet mock up of it too.
As for LTD runs..
I can do as many as I have money to do ;-)

Funny you should say that, I'd probably go for a neon green SL2H, but it would have to have a matching headstock. Maybe some day? Like this color:

I am all over that one if the paint is a bit more brite. I would want it to be a NEON green, loud ass green!!!! I mean want it to shout, YES I AM FROM THE 80's AND I AM PROUD OF IT. No woodworking changes..
No rev head, or fins.
no alternate fretboards.
no quilt tops
no alternate inlay options
no alternate pup combinations etc, etc, etc, et al.

The only reason Jackson allows these small batch runs at usa pricing is that they wont allow any of these changes.
All thats allowed is color/graphic change, logo and hardware color change and pup changes.

Any deviation would constitute a custom shop.

In fact I think They're getting tired of me always pushing the envelope.
