• New SLS

Is anyone buying the New SLS`s? I think they look fantastic and the 24.75 scale is awsome to me anyways. I never hear anything about them anymore, I can see them discontinuing this model very soon I don`t care for the headstock per say, but the rest is killa Jack.

Re: New SLS

I ordered a Custom Shop Charvel and had a chance to talk to Mike Kotzen. I asked him about the SLSs and he said that the demand for them is very slow and they were doing them in batches very infrequently.

Yeah, I see that one dying a slow death.

I know of a brand new sunburst flametop f/s. It was originally going for $1700, now it's down to $1500, and the store talks like they're going to have to drop it even further to get rid of it. Much lower and I may have to grab it.

Go get her Joe!! You know what as nice as they are, to me they are about a $1000 guitar, probably because it doesn`t have a floyd and they are thin and light. Jack.

The bridge kills them for me. I prefer a TOM with either a stop tail or string thru.

So the Parker guitars are the same.
No Floyd, thin and light.. and to me they are about a $1000 guitar.
Great guitars though.

I also prefer that setup, but it's not a big enough deal to "kill" them for me.

Re: New SLS

What killed this guitar is the stupid bridge they put on there and the silly headstock. The problem is that Jackson will see that this isn't selling and think, "oh there's no demand for short scale" when there really is...it's just the other silly features kill it for most Jackson fans. Just make a regular SL2 but with a short scale and either tune-o-matic or Floyd bridge....very simple....it will sell better IMO.

Re: New SLS

IMO this bridge isn't silly at all! ABM parts are from very high quality. Actually one of the reasons I ordered an SLS is the bridge. I don't care about the headstock, but I think it fits well. I guess the main reason why the SLS doesn't sell well is not because of the scale, bridge, headstock, whatever, but because there are no famous artists playing one

Re: New SLS

I didn't buy one, because it had 22 frets. Otherwise - Rocka Rolla! I think they're really nice, and the bridge seems to be better than a standard tune-o-matic

And because it didn't have sharkfin inlays!!!

Actually it has twice as much sharkfin inlays than any other Jackson guitar
