Hey, speaking of 'Ol VV anyway I saw an old video of the Invasion the other day and the guitar I saw him playing was the double V design but it had a reverse jackson style headstock, but I could SWEAR it had a Carvin logo.

Did carvin build him one before the Jackson shop did??

Are we talking about a neck-thru or bolt on?
If it's neck-thru, I think unpainted necks look funny.

It will be a neck through. The problem with a painted neck would be if we went with metalflake - that is a lot of finish to slap on the neck

Did it accept your vote once but then return you to the page with all the voting options again? And after that did it not let you vote again (saying something like "this IP has already voted")? If so, you are at work and you should stop screwing around on the Internet - J/K, if this is what you are seeing it will be related to your work firewall - there are lots of known problems with the various BBS software implementations regarding cookies and firewalls. I have that problem at work - other BBS systems won't work at all.

Very cool idea Tim....unfortunately I won't be able to be a part of this one

This is gonna be cost prohibitive for many of the boardmembers.

Plus.....I have Big Red coming....that is enough "V" for this kid

Re: Vinnie Vincent Custom Shop Poll #1 - the basics

The way I'm looking at it is that I don't have to put 100% down now and knowing the pace of the custom shop I have plenty of time to come up with the remainder.

Heh. Lot's of split decisions. The only definite is an Ebony board. Of course, there's no way to tell what those who were serious about buying one voted - I have my doubts that we'd get all 46 folks buying one at this time

Re: Vinnie Vincent Custom Shop Poll #1 - the basics

Yea, it is hard to do limited edition with the same specs.
Like said, the way of doing this is to order certain number of people together and hope to get it cheaper than 1 guy ordering a custom shop.
Each one can be different.

Now, who voted for Rosewood fingerboard?

Ranalli, you can do that. As mentioned, we don't have to agree on specs. The poll was just for fun.

Actually, I'm fine with the specs as are, however, I find it funny whenever a new guitar is being spec'd out tons of people run in the thread saying it needs to have one humbucker that's an EMG with one volume knob making it the least versatile guitar you can find.

A one humbucker EMG is very versatile. You can play both kinds of music with that: heavy metal and really heavy metal.
